Evelyn NG

Born on September 14, 1975 in Toronto Canada Evelyn NG is one of the most accomplished pro women poker players in the world. Also an expert pool player, Ng began gambling when she was 14. By age 17 she had already begun playing backroom card games in Toronto. As soon as she was old enough she began dealer poker and blackjack, at which time she met Daniel Negreanu. The two became friends and eventually Negreanu became Ng’s poker coach.

Her time dealing, as well as her friendship with Negreanu, proved to be the perfect opportunity for Ng to polish her skills. After several months of dealing, Ng decided to try no-limit Texas Hold’em and entered the World Poker Tour Ladies Night satellite. She later said she never thought she would go so far as the second place at the finals. Although she did not actually win the tournament, she did gain a lot of attention from the media. Her success continued as she joined several World Poker Tour events. Following the 2005 main event, she managed to finish quite respectably at 22nd place.

Beyond her status as a pro player, Ng is also employed by Team Poker Stars. Although Ng has not won any major poker tournaments to date, the success she has earned as well as the media attention she has gained has allowed her to make a living playing the game she loves. Ng has appeared as a commentator on several poker television shows. She has also appeared as a competitor on King of Vegas. Ng also represents BoDog. She is quite well known on the poker circuit not only for her impressive stature, her height is 5′1l, but also for the wide range of chip tricks she can perform.
